Lenexa, Kan. – GBA, an engineering and architectural firm headquartered here, announced that four staff members recently achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) professional accreditation.  Wayne Kirchhoff, AICP, ASLA; Gus Lind, P.E., PLS; Sam Wagner, AIA; and Holly Boomsma, EI, have received the LEED AP designation. The LEED Professional Accreditation program is managed by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) under the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).  LEED Accredited Professionals pass an exam in which they demonstrate proficiency in green building practices and principles outlined in the LEED Green Building Rating System.

          Kirchhoff, an associate with GBA’s Studio 4 design group, has 35 years of experience in land planning and landscape architecture including urban design and planning for mixed-use, retail, and business environments; master-planned communities; traditional neighborhood developments; resorts; streetscapes; and urban park and recreation projects. 

            Lind, a senior engineer with GBA’s Civil/Site Development Group, has more than 35 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction of industrial, commercial, and residential site development.

            Wagner, a project architect for the firm’s BioPharmaceutical Group, has more than 10 years of experience. With GBA since 2007, his work has focused primarily on design for the animal and human health industries.  

            Boomsma, a structural engineer for the GBA Bridge Group, has participated in the design of a variety of bridge types for municipalities and state DOTs.
