INFORMATION

 

When: Saturday, April 21 2012. Marathon and ½ Marathon start at 7:00 am (no early or late starts). 5K and Munchkin Marathon start at 7:30 am.
Where: Garmin World Headquarters, 1200 E. 151st Street Olathe, KS 66062.
What: USATF Certified Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K through the beautiful city streets and trails in eastern Kansas. The Marathon, ½ Marathon and 5K will utilize chip timing by UltraMax. All participants will receive a short-sleeve cotton t-shirt; Half and Full Participants will receive a medal and Full Participants will also receive a finisher tech shirt.

Important to Know: Walkers are not allowed in any of the races, but a run/walk combo is fine as long as the half-way point in reached by 10 a.m. All participants will receive a marathon t-shirt, but size is NOT guaranteed to participants that register after Apr. 1, 2012.

Race Packet Pick-Up/Health Expo

Packet Pick-up will be held on Friday, April 20th
from Noon until 7 pm. at Holiday Inn - Olathe,
101 West 151st Street, Olathe, KS 66061.
A Health Expo will take place during the packet
pick-up. You may also pick-up your packet the morning
of the race between 5 and 6 am. At Garmin International,
1200 E 151st St, Olathe, KS 66062.

 

 

Training

Chip Timing

Runner's times will be registered through chip timing. Participants must attach the chip to his or her shoe prior to starting the race.

 

Trophies & Awards:

Trophies will be presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female finishers. Trophies will also be presented to the 1st place male and female Master (over 40 years old) finisher. Age-group awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups: 18 and Under, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54- 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. The overall and master trophy recipients are not eligible for age group awards (no double-dipping). The awards ceremony for the overall and masters winners will be as soon as the results are confirmed to be official. The approximate times for the trophy presentations are as follows: 5K 8:20 am, Half-marathon at 9:30 am and Marathon at 10:45 am. We will make every attempt to give out the age-group awards as soon as possible. Please check at the awards tent after the race for the posting of race results as they become available. Overall trophies (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) will be determined by gun time.  The age group and 1st master awards will be determined by chip time.

 

Finish Line

Eat great food at the taste of Olathe, relax with a massage, or quench your thirst at the beer tent. Olathe has a wide range of restaurants to offer, which will be represented at the post race festivities.

Additional Info:

The Oz Marathon will not be allowing “walkers” on the half or the full marathon. The Oz Marathon will also not be allowing people to start the race late. It is best to be one half hour early to give yourself enough time to warm up and get your place at the start line.
